The abuse of Sumud Flotilla activists is piracy and state terrorism passing without deterrence

Israel and its army soldiers continue to abuse the activists of the Freedom Flotilla after pirating it during a humanitarian mission to break the siege on Gaza.

These arrests constitute unlawful piracy and state terrorism that passes without accountability, while the world remains silent.

The Center warns that these practices aim to intimidate humanitarian initiatives and terrorize Palestinian civilians, calling on the international community to intervene immediately, stop the violations, and protect the basic rights of more than two and a half million Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip, the largest prison in the world.

The scenes of abuse against the activists of the humanitarian flotilla coincide with the daily suffering witnessed in Israeli prisons by nearly 10,000 Palestinian prisoners, who are subjected to ongoing repression and abuse, including solitary confinement, denial of visits, and arbitrary measures, which constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and human rights.

The Center affirms that the continuation of these practices reflects a deliberate policy of terrorizing the Palestinian people and all those who stand in solidarity with them, and of imposing collective punishment against them. It calls on the international community and human rights institutions to take immediate action to save the prisoners and detainees, and to end the impunity that Israel exploits without deterrence.
