In a majestic national scene, all of Palestine, from Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the 1948 territories to the steadfast and noble Gaza Strip, welcomes a distinguished group of the finest sons and leaders of the Palestinian people who have spent many years and decades in Israeli prisons, deprived of the most basic human rights and necessities of life.
These moments, filled with the spirit of freedom and the triumph of Palestinian will, come at a time when the Palestinian people, especially the people of Gaza, have sacrificed more than 70,000 martyrs, tens of thousands of wounded, thousands missing and displaced, and countless who have lost their homes and now, for two consecutive years, have lived under the open sky of Gaza after their homes were destroyed. They have endured an unprecedented genocide marked by killing, bombardment, starvation, and deprivation of medicine, treatment, and clothing. Yet they never wavered nor weakened; they stood at the forefront of a rare historical scene of heroism, sacrifice, and defense of the prisoners and of Al-Aqsa, remaining steadfast even through the final minutes of annihilation. On behalf of all Palestinians everywhere, they have achieved what armies, regimes, institutions, and organizations failed to accomplish.
The freedom of prisoners and the pursuit of their liberation by all possible means is a national, moral, humanitarian, legal, and religious duty. Supporting and standing with them must be a top priority for all people of conscience, regardless of nationality or ethnicity. The foremost message of the ongoing exchange deal we witness in these historic moments is the need to act for the rescue of all remaining male and female prisoners, who are enduring the most horrific forms of oppression, torture, and humiliation.
We hereby call upon our people in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the 1948 territories to continue the path of steadfastness, resilience, and sacrifice established by the noble Gaza Strip, to work by every possible and available means, and to seek every path to compel the occupation to pay the price for continuing to detain our prisoners. We also call upon all national forces, institutions, organizations, and public figures to seize this critical and decisive moment and act upon this message.
The injustice has reached its peak, and the time has come for the world, which has spoken extensively about a few dozen Israeli captives, to end its policy of bias toward the occupation and its narrative. Our prisoners are freedom seekers, lovers of their homeland, and refugees expelled from their homes by Israel after it destroyed their dreams and hopes. The time has come to demand real international pressure on the occupation, to compel it to release all Palestinian prisoners and detainees whose right to freedom and dignified life is guaranteed by all international covenants and treaties.
Glory to the steadfast Palestinian people, especially our patient families in the noble Gaza Strip. Salute to the families and relatives of the prisoners in the occupation’s jails, and congratulations to the freed prisoners released after long years of heroic endurance and steadfastness in the prisons, cells, and detention centers of the Israeli occupation.
