The Occupation Is Committing Systematic Torture Against Prisoners — The International Community Must Act Immediately

The Palestinian Center for Prisoners Advocacy expresses its deep concern over increasing reports of the escalation in the use of torture, including electric shocks, against Palestinian detainees in occupation prisons—practices that amount to war crimes and blatant violations of the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law.

These severe violations reflect the true face of an occupation built on fascism and collective punishment, and they confirm that Palestinian prisoners are subjected to inhumane detention conditions, including the denial of basic rights and continuous physical and psychological abuse.

In light of this dangerous escalation, the Center:

  • Warns against the continued and worsening repression inside prisons and holds the occupation authorities fully responsible for the lives and safety of the detainees.
  • Calls on international human rights organizations—especially those monitoring prisoner conditions—to take immediate action to secure legal and humanitarian protection for Palestinian detainees and to pressure for an end to these brutal practices.
  • Urges our people, both in the homeland and the diaspora, as well as all freedom-loving individuals around the world, to intensify popular and media campaigns in solidarity with the prisoners, to expose the crimes committed against them, and to ensure their cause remains alive in the conscience of humanity.

In conclusion, the Center affirms that defending the rights of Palestinian prisoners is a national, moral, and humanitarian duty—and that continued international silence in the face of these abuses is nothing less than complicity with the oppressor.
