The Palestinian Center for Prisoners Advocacy strongly condemns the large-scale raids carried out by suppression units affiliated with the Israeli prison administration against prisoner sections in several prisons. These raids were accompanied by violent assaults using batons, stun grenades, and pepper spray, which resulted in a number of prisoners being injured and some being transferred to hospitals.<\/p>\n
The center affirms that what occurred represents organized state terrorism practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities against Palestinian prisoners inside prisons, as part of a systematic policy aimed at abusing the prisoners\u2019 movement and breaking the will of the detainees.<\/p>\n
The center holds the extremist minister Itamar Ben Gvir directly responsible for these crimes, in light of the policies he pursues toward prisoners, and under the cover of a racist Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, which has provided the political cover for escalating assaults and violations inside the prisons.<\/p>\n
The center also warns of the seriousness of the coming stage, expecting further deterioration in the conditions of prisoners amid the current global and regional preoccupation with ongoing events. This situation may encourage the occupation authorities to continue their policies of repression and abuse away from any international oversight or accountability.<\/p>\n
The Palestinian Center for Prisoners Advocacy\u00a0calls on the international community and human rights and humanitarian organizations to take urgent action to provide immediate international protection for Palestinian prisoners inside Israeli prisons, and to work to stop the escalating assaults against them and ensure their physical and human safety.<\/p>\n
The center emphasizes that the issue of prisoners will remain a humanitarian and national cause that cannot be ignored, and that the continuation of these crimes requires a clear international stance to put an end to the ongoing violations inside Israeli prisons.<\/p>\n
