Lina Altawell, Director of the Palestinian Center for Prisoners’ Advocacy, reported the martyrdom of administrative detainee Ahmad Saeed Tazazaa, 20 years old, in “Megiddo” Prison. He had been detained since May 6 of this year and was a resident of Jenin Governorate.
Altawell explained that with the death of detainee Tazazaa, the number of prisoners and detainees killed since the start of the ongoing war of extermination has risen to 76. These are only the cases officially announced by the Israeli Prison Service or whose identities have been confirmed, suggesting that the actual number may be higher due to the policy of enforced disappearances practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities.
She added that Tazazaa is considered martyr number 313 among the prisoners’ movement members who have died inside Israeli prisons since 1967 as a result of medical neglect, torture, or direct killing.
The Director of the Palestinian Center for Prisoners’ Advocacy holds the Israeli occupation authorities and the Prison Service fully responsible for the killing of detainee Tazazaa. She calls on international human rights and humanitarian organizations to urgently provide protection for the 10,000 Palestinian detainees and prisoners who are subjected to severe abuses, including oppression, deprivation, starvation, medical neglect, and both psychological and physical torture.
