“Voice of the Prisoners… A Cry from Gaza” Campaign – Government Media Office in the Gaza Strip

Context: Amid the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the subsequent escalation in assaults on Palestinian prisoners, the Government Media Office launched a wide-ranging media and human rights campaign to shed light on the suffering of prisoners inside Israeli occupation prisons.

Campaign Title:

“Voice of the Prisoners… A Cry from Gaza”

Campaign Objectives:

  • Highlight the violations suffered by Palestinian prisoners, particularly under policies of solitary confinement, torture, and medical neglect.
  • Demand the immediate release of all prisoners, especially women, the elderly, and the sick.
  • Reaffirm the centrality of the prisoners’ cause within the Palestinian national discourse.
  • Engage international public opinion and global media on the legal and humanitarian responsibility of the Israeli occupation.

Campaign Activities:

  • Issuing an official statement.
  • Holding press conferences and media events featuring testimonies of released prisoners and documentation of inhumane detention conditions.
  • Organizing an open and joint radio broadcast in coordination with several relevant entities.
  • Conducting solidarity vigils in front of media institutions in Gaza, with the participation of prisoners’ families, where photos of prisoners were raised and slogans denouncing administrative detention and solitary confinement were chanted.
  • Coordinating with digital platforms to publish visual and written content under the hashtags:
    #Freedom_Prisoners and #Occupation_Kills_Dignity.
