The Palestinian Center for Prisoners Advocacy expresses deep concern and strong condemnation over the serious and systematic violations revealed by human rights and media reports against hundreds of Palestinian detainees—including children and the elderly—held in the notorious Israeli military detention camp known as “Sde Teiman,” which was established by the Israeli occupation forces in the Negev Desert in southern Palestine following the start of their aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023.
At the Center, we consider what is happening in “Sde Teiman” to be a full-fledged war crime and a blatant violation of the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law. We call on the international community—especially the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross—to launch an urgent and transparent investigation into these violations, immediately shut down the detention camp, and ensure accountability for those responsible at all military and political levels.
We also call on the Palestinian Authority and both local and international human rights organizations to intensify legal and diplomatic efforts to document these crimes and bring them before the relevant international courts.
The cause of our prisoners will remain at the forefront of our national and human rights priorities until they achieve freedom and dignity.
